Augusta Data Storage Construction Update:

As many of you know, we broke ground on the site of our new storage facility in early November 2016. After a lot of behind the scenes work and some holiday breaks we were excited to start making major headway on the project in January. Since then we have had so much fun tracking the progress on our new facility and wanted to share an update on the project as well as some site photos and more information about the facility and all its specifications for compliance and security.

This month we are looking forward to seeing the building really take shape as they finish up the steel framing and building erection, as well as begin framing out the new office area. Once that is completed we hope to move into installing electrical, plumbing, sprinklers, etc. By the end of the summer we are slated to have racks in the building which will allow us to begin transferring files into the new facility as soon as September. We look forward to full project completion in October and can’t wait to share more photos of our project as it comes together. This is such an exciting time for our organization, as we celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Augusta Data Storage in 2017.

Our new facility will add 26,000 sq. ft. of space to our current footprint,  which includes 5,000 sq. ft. of office space, giving us 17 new offices, an easily accessible lobby and reception area for customers looking to pick up records or take advantage of our drop-off shredding service, a new employee training area, and a new conference room. We look forward to the opportunity and to relocating some of our staff, including Data Storage personnel, Human Resources, Safety & Compliance, Claims, and our Go-Mini’s team, to the new facility to allow additional room for future growth throughout our original facility.

Additionally, our space will house 21,000 sq. ft. of National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) compliant Record Storage. In order for a Commercial Storage facility to be considered NARA compliant or certified, the facility must meet a stringent set of standards defined by The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).  These standards are known as 36 CFR 1234 (Code of Federal Regulations). NARA Compliance standards address items such as facility structure and design, fire safety and suppression, environmental controls, and security and access controls. Augusta Data Storage, Inc. is proud to be one (1) of only 24 facilities in the country to have this certification.

We look forward to keeping you all updated as the construction process continues, and can’t wait to share images of the finished building and office space with you in October. Have questions about our records storage or secure shredding operations? Feel free to reach out to us any time, we’re always here to help!
