We Recycle – Zero-Landfill E-Waste Process
Much like our secure document shredding process, our e-waste destruction process is part of a post-destruction zero-landfill process. This means that every part of the drives that we destroy and recycle is reused to make new products.
In addition to posing a security threat to your information, electronic devices that are not properly disposed of create huge environmental risks. E-waste accounts for over 70% of the toxic heavy-metal waste found in many of the world’s landfills. When e-waste is not properly disposed of, items like lead, arsenic, cadmium, and flame retardants found in e-devices can leach directly from the e-waste into the soil and water supplies, or create harmful toxins if they are burned, creating severe air pollution problems. We work with our local partners to ensure that we are keeping these harmful items out of landfills and ensuring that items that can be re-used are recycled to create new products.
