ETG is Shredding for a Cause

This past weekend we partnered with Wesley United Methodist Church and the Leukemia and Lymphoma society of Augusta to benefit the annual Light the Night Walk, a charity event focused on raising funds for research and treatments for those with blood cancers.

Our event offered secure destruction services in exchange for a donation to support the efforts of our local Leukemia and Lymphoma society. Over the course of the 3 hour event we collected over 1,200 lbs of records for secure shredding and raised $1,000 to donate towards their annual Light the Night fundraiser.  We love partnering with local organizations to help shred for a cause and offering opportunities for local residents to take advantage of our convenient and secure document destruction services.

In addition to raising funds, our shred event also created some additional environmental savings. All the paper that was collected will be baled and recycled to create new paper products and eliminate unnecessary paper waste in landfills. In just 3 hours, we were able to create an environmental savings of 10 trees, over 4,000 gallons of water, and over 2,000 Kw hours of energy! Not too shabby for a mornings work!
