Community Shred Day Results : May 2016

Congratulations to our entire Augusta Data Storage Team! Last week was definitely one for the books. We had a series of shred events, both public and private during the week of May 7- May 14 resulting in a huge amount of shredded material coming to us for processing! While the information safety benefits are great for our customers and their clients who benefitted from these local events, its hard to forget what a huge impact events like these have on the environment. At Augusta Data Storage, we consider the environmental benefits of offering shredding services to be one of the largest factors in motivating us to provide community shred events throughout the year. Did you know that 1 Ton of recycled paper can save as many as 17 trees from future processing, or keep 60 pounds of pollutants from leaking into the environment during the paper making process?

All of the paper material we collect is securely shredded through one of our NAID AAA shredding processes, either mobile or plant-based. After the material is shredded, it is then recycled to make new consumer goods, reducing the impact of waste on the environment. During the last week we have shredded over 19 Tons of paper material. Wondering what that looks like in environmental savings? Check out some stats below:

We’d like to send a huge thank you to all those who reach out to us year-round to provide a safe and environmentally friendly option for paper and other waste, including the Cleveland Group CPAs and the Columbia County Recycling Centers. Thanks to you we have been able to make a notable difference in the environmental impact our local area has through daily consumption of paper goods.
