Augusta Data Storage Participates in Rivers Alive Recycling Event

This past weekend, as a part of the Rivers Alive Recycling event, we teamed up with the Augusta Utilities department, Augusta Recreation and Parks, ESG Operations, Inc, Richmond County Sheriffs Department, Augusta Landfill, and AARP Georgia to provide secure shredding services for area residents looking for a secure way to recycle their personal documents and other paper materials. Rivers Alive Cleanup events are a part of a semi annual initiative through Savannah Riverkepper. The Savannah Riverkeeper strives to be an effective and sustainable organization solely focused on making the Savannah River a healthy and productive watershed ensuring the natural, economic, and recreational viability of the basin as a whole now and for generations to come.

Through our partnership with this program we were able to provide a recycling solution for paper waste in the CSRA. During the event we collected, shredded, and recycled over 580lbs of paper waste. During this three hour event, we were able to make a noticeable environmental impact. based on estimated figures from the U.S. EPA recycling just 580lbs of paper will save over 2,030 gallons of water, 1189 Kw of energy, 5 trees, and about 1.5 cubic yards of landfill space. In addition, recycling the paper will prevent over 17lbs of pollutants from entering the environment, all byproducts of the paper making process. If you are in search of an alternative to conventional recycling, which allows you more control over the security of your personal or private documents, contact us today.
